Membership Registration at Yakima Arts Academy
The Yakima Arts Academy Board of Directors is updating it’s membership options. We are moving to per class registration fees as we become more established in the community. Registration fees can be paid at the door or in advance. As a non-profit, dedicated to the arts, youth and our community, we are committed to stewardship and collecting fees only to cover the following costs:
- Art Instructors (fees average $200 per course)
- Art Supplies which are provided at all our courses (per students supplies can range from $5 to $20 per student)
- Room Rental (fees can range from free to $100 pers hour)
- Snacks – YAA provides healthy snacks at events, please inform us of allergies ($2-5 per student)
- Operational costs include webhosting, insurance, background check fees, bank fees (varies annually)

You can also support the Yakima Arts Academy by becoming an member. Becoming a member of Yakima Arts Academy means joining a creative community where young people can explore, learn, and grow through the arts. Membership is designed for youth ages 8 to 18 who want to develop their artistic skills, connect with peers, and experience the joy of creative expression in a supportive environment.
What Membership Includes:

Free Courses through the Year – Members receive access to art courses annually between September 1 to August 31 at no cost. Each course is typically two-hour long, taught by a trained local artists and educators. January 1, annual membership fees are prorated to $100 for the remainder of the year after January 1 – August 31.

Early Enrollment Access – Members receive priority registration for all courses and workshops before open enrollment begins for non-members.

Discounted Additional Classes – Members can take extra courses throughout the year for a modest fee or discount.

Exclusive Opportunities – Members have first access to creative field trips, art contests, and community events such as museum visits, workshops, and collaborative art shows.

Showcase & Recognition – Members’ artwork may be featured on our website, social media, and in community exhibitions celebrating youth creativity.

Membership Fee:
Annual membership is $200 per year, which supports program materials, artist stipends, and student experiences. Payment can be made in full or two payments. Scholarships and financial assistance are available to ensure all youth can participate regardless of financial circumstance.

In consideration of being permitted to participate, members and their parents or guardians agree to release and hold harmless Yakima Arts Academy, its instructors, staff, volunteers, and partners from any and all liability, claims, or demands for personal injury, property damage, or loss that may arise from participation in Academy programs, whether occurring on or off site. Participants also grant permission for the use of photos, videos, or artwork created during Academy activities for educational and promotional purposes unless otherwise requested in writing.
